Privacy notice

Pre-launch notice
This notice is a working draft. Before Carevo UK accepts personal data from the public it must be reviewed by someone qualified in UK data protection law, and the outstanding items below must be resolved.
1. Who we are
Carevo UK is operated by Carevo Pty Ltd (ABN 69 696 950 919), a company registered in Australia, whose registered address is 6/11 York St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. Carevo Pty Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
Because we are established outside the United Kingdom and offer services to people in the UK, the UK GDPR applies to this processing.
Outstanding: a UK representative under Article 27 UK GDPR has not yet been appointed. This must be resolved, or an exemption confirmed, before the site collects personal data.
Outstanding: registration with the Information Commissioner's Office has not yet been completed.
2. What we collect
When you submit an enquiry we collect the name, email address, location and care requirements you give us, and the page you submitted from.
When you use a calculator or checker, the answers stay in your browser. They are not transmitted to us and we never see them.
If analytics are enabled we collect standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type and referrer. We do not use this to identify you.
We do not knowingly collect special category data. Please do not include medical details in a free-text enquiry.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Responding to your enquiry. Lawful basis: consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.
- Passing your enquiry to care providers so they can respond. Lawful basis: consent. We tell you this on the form before you submit.
- Improving the site. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, namely understanding which content is useful.
- Meeting legal obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
4. Analytics and where enquiries are stored
We use PostHog to understand how the site is used and to record enquiries. PostHog is our data processor and acts on our instructions under contract.
PostHog's autocapture records interactions such as page views and clicks. It does not record what you type into a form field: input values are masked before anything leaves your browser. Session recordings, where enabled, mask every input for the same reason.
When you complete the enquiry questionnaire, the details you give us (your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the area you need care in, and what you have told us about your care needs) are sent to PostHog and stored against your record there. This happens from the point you enter your email address, so that we can still respond if you do not finish the form. If you would rather we did not keep a partial enquiry, email us and we will delete it.
Please do not enter medical details or other special category data in the free-text box. It is not needed to match you with a provider.
5. Who we share it with
We share enquiry details with care providers in your area only where you have consented, and only so they can respond to you. Each provider is an independent controller of the data once they receive it, and their own privacy notice governs what they do with it.
We also use service providers who process data on our behalf, including hosting and email delivery. They act on our instructions under contract.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Because we are established in Australia, and because PostHog processes data in the United States, your data is transferred outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, which does not affect processing already carried out.
To exercise any right, email privacy@carevo.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Cookies
This site does not set advertising cookies. If product analytics are enabled, a first-party cookie may be set to distinguish repeat visits. Where a cookie is not strictly necessary we will ask for your consent before setting it.
10. Provider data on this site
Information about care providers is taken from data published by the Care Quality Commission under the Open Government Licence v3.0. This is organisational information about registered services, not personal data about you. Names of registered managers appear in CQC's published register and are reproduced only where CQC publishes them.
11. Changes
We will update this notice when our processing changes, and will change the date at the top.
